Hi again,
Thanks for the replies.
Hi Tom,
I have not made a security module, just made a module from the festival lite speech synthesis software http://www.speech.cs.cmu.edu/flite/ and a module from the motion software http://www.lavrsen.dk/twiki/bin/view/Motion/WebHome. If they work for you then great.I have uploaded these to a guest rapidshare account which can be downloaded 10 times. The links are:

I made some other modules if you are interested.

I had to buy some parts such as a video4linux supported video capture card and cheap infrared camera
I had to learn some basic bash shell scripting to write a looping menu that speaks the choices to the user in a fairly crappy voice. The user can choose to burn a dvd-rw of the existing video archive, test the system for a minute ie the voice says "I see you" while it detects motion for 1 minute then goes back to previous state of recording everything and some other stuff.
If you want more info about any of this or any of the bash scripts let me know. The scripts are probably pretty bad but they work for me :-)
You should check out some info about making dyne modules from the user manual and the web but if you are unsure I can try and show you how I did mine.
Thanks again
Nick

Welcome Nick! I for one would be interested in MythTV on the dynebolic
distro. I've been meaning to build myself a MythTV box for sometime, and
believe dyne would be an ideal platform. I'm not a programmer/hacker, so I
can't help in that regard. Also, I'd be interested in your home security
module.

Thanks,
