Hi all!
It's been a while since the last time that i posted something and that's
because i'm not using d:b anymore... Yes, i switched to the more solid
and k.i.s.s. Arch Linux [give it a shot dude! it's great :-) ].

Anyway, since you're talking 'but d:b 3 i feel like a personal feedback
from a passionate linux user could be helpfull...

So, d:b was the first Linux distro that i ever tried and i used it for 6
months or so.
The good:
- Super low latency kernel
- Very lite (but not exactly simple.. too many symlinks makes me vomit)
- Nice set of apps, usually working from default
- Homeless compatible (super cool nest, but sometimes screws up...)
- Great support from the community ;-)
- Modules support (still the best way to "install" apps)
- Somewhat expiring and beautiful piece of software. It's got and heart
i tell you!

The bad:
- Installing a distro can be useful to improve overall performances
(boot-up time, optimized partition with selected FSs, ecc..)
- Installing but especially Uninstalling dependencies and other "minor"
software without a packet manager it's a pain in the arse dude...

That's it. Anyway, i don't think deb is a good choice for d:b3... first
it's pretty heavy, and second it's not as edgy as other modern distros.
Fedora has a great repo. Probably better than the deb repo, but still i
would stick with something like gentoo, or arch (you know that karma
benefit from compiling souces :-) ). They're easy to customize and
they're both very fast and reliable. Repos (or build systems) are pretty
good and support is great.
