Subject: Re: [dyne:bolic] Free USB installer - would not recognize usb drive
I have d:b installed on a Kingston DataTraveller 1Gb (FAT32) and never
had to replug it to see the files on it on my HP nx7300, on series of
desktop PCs - HP,IBM,Dell,Noname
This is also stands for my Maxell 8Gb usb drive.
But I noticed with some MP3 players and noname USB drives after d:b boot
while USB drive connected, the replug is needed *or run lsusb in
terminal window.*It seems that d:b "automount" sometimes just fall
asleep using these cheap drives. This is also true for Acer PIII laptops,
don't know why exactly but it seems to me that the common thing is that
the PC how recognizes the USB drive type. If it reports itself to PC as
USB HDD then everything is OK, but if it is USB storage simply then
things go much harder....
