Older laptops have limited bitdepth and sometimes also require frame buffer mode. Dyne:bolic gives you options on bootup to set vga modes. You probably want to start by typing something like: linux vga=788 on boot lineDan ConklinHelp fight software piracy...use Linux!http://www.louddata.comNeed to know something about shooting and editing video? It may be defaulting to the vga out instead of the built-in lcd. I've run into this on older laptops. It's a hardware thing, I think, and not a dyne thing. You can also try fiddling with the video output function keys on your laptop while its booting.Let me know how it works out.Cheers,-Kentjeffrey wrote:> i have an ibm thinkpad laptop. it's a T22 P3 1GHz with

(that is X starts correctly and i have an interface) what's up with that?? i'm sure it is probably my ignorance that is ultimately at fault but if someone could please give some kind of clue of what to do i would be much appreciative! peace, jeffrey p>> _______________________________________________> No banners.
