in case you get a text console asking for login/password, your video
card and/or other hardware hasn't been recognized properly. in such an
unfortunate case you can only try to:
1) fix it yourselve modifying default configuration to fit your
particular hardware, see: http://dev.dynebolic.org
2) try another more recent version if it fixes your problem (2.3 is out)
3) patiently submit a bugreport with all possible details about your
hardware configuration to http://bugs.dyne.org, in the hope that it will
be fixed.

please also consider that your problem might be caused by a scratched or
not properly written CD or a corrupted .ISO image download of
dyne:bolic.
