Hi,
I copied the dyne directory from the (loop mounted) ISO, to the root of
my (archlinux) root partition, and manually changed my menu.lst file to
contain the boot options from /isolinux/isolinux.cfg . I'm fairly
familiar with this procedure because I don't have a cdwriter and 90 % of
burnt cdroms don't function anyway on my laptop.
My problem:
Booting is smooth, until X should start. I can barely read the last
screen output (speedy) but I assume it states something like 'using
configfile ......../xorg.conf' Then the screen flickers twice (as would
be normal) and goes black. Nothing. No keyboard awareness except
'ctrl-alt-delete' to reboot. The last 25 lines of screen output or so,
are scrambled, I mean not properly alligned.
My graphics card is a sis630 using module sis.
Can I append a boot option to NOT start X ?
Can I append a boot option to use a generic vesa driver ?
