You need a stick the image fits on as well as some boot files like
syslinux, so you probably do need at least a 1GB.

There is a HowTo on installing Debian from a USB stick; you copy boot
files and an ISO image on the stick.

You can probably adapt it to Dynebolic. Hope this helps!
