A variant of those arrangements. All currently valuable data is on a
USB store mounted at /home/me/A. The current store is 32 GB or GiB
capacity. Current usage is less than 5 GiB.
Various machines are used. The store is plugged to the machine where I
happen to be working. In a sense, I can say the machine is a
peripheral. The data on the store is the significant value.
/home/me/A is backed to /home/me/Backup interactively by shell
function Backup. Typically at intervals of hours. Weekly or so,
/home/me/Backup is backed to a USB attached drive with a capacity of
~400 GiB by shell function FilesToHDD .
The functions are declared in
https://easthope.ca/BashFunctions .
Invokedy by ". BashFunctions" at the end of .bashrc .
