I gave a quick look to both Gnome and KDE when I first tried SuSE 6.1,
liked KDE much more, and haven't felt any temptation to switch away since.
Not that either KDE or Gnome look much like they did then... but somehow
the "feel", and the philosophical tones, seem to have persisted.

So this is a vote for saying "adieu" to Gnome, and putting resources
into KDE
and other choices such as XFCE.
