FreeDesktop has been deliberately letting Xorg rot, so they can claim
"X11 is unmaintained because nobody wants to work on it, therefore you
should switch to Wayland."

Since Xorg is basically abandoned, it would make sense to switch to
XLibre. But because Xorg is being abandoned specifically to force
Wayland adoption, and Debian is probably on board with forced Wayland
adoption (we're all here because Debian forced FreeDesktop Systemd on
us), I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Debian to package XLibre.

Therefore, Devuan should package XLibre itself, and consider making it
the default X11 server.
