Oh, something odd I've noticed. While my headphone is plugged in, no sound would
be heard unless I change the profile from `5.1+analog input' to `Duplex stereo
analog'.
I did a quick test through discord, in order to figure out your issue. I had to
play around with the profiles so that the proper input audio `device' would be
picked up by the browser. In essence, the browser defaulted to my 5.1 profile
where the sound came from a different `device', the front panel. So while sound
is detected, firefox didn't listen to the right device and no sound would be
detected by the internet app.
Did this under KDE and its audio widgets. Though I expect pavucontrol can
achieve the same outcome.
