The only google hit I got referenced the command 'zpool'. I don't use
zfs myself, but given that command (and the error), I would hazard zfs
is somewhat akin to LVM or LUKS where you have to first do stuff with
the appropriate manager to get the /dev/dmXXX device that contains the
real filesystem.
