Emne: [devuan-dev] bug#875: libmimalloc3: illegal instruction error when called from mtxrun --generate
Package: libmimalloc3
Version: 3.0.1+ds-2+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

* What led up to the situation?

With package context installed, mtxrun --generate is called, which
exits with an illegal instruction error on this machine
AMD A10-6800K APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, supports:

sse3-support
sse4.1-support
sse4.2-support
x86-64-v2-support

but NOT:

x86-64-v3-support

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

mtxrun is a symbolic link to luametatex

running from gdb:

(gdb) file luametatex
Reading symbols from luametatex...
(No debugging symbols found in luametatex)
(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/luametatex
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".

Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
0x00007ffff7f7819a in ?? () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libmimalloc.so.3

I tried installing context on another machine which DOES include:

x86-64-v3-support (AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT).

and that ran fine.

On my older machine, I tried removing luamtetatex and dependencies, and
the tex-common 6.18 process completed successfully, but that is hardly
and ideal solution.

* What was the outcome of this action?
* What outcome did you expect instead?
