OK, I ran "dpkg -P google-chrome-stable" since I had used dpkg to
install it. And after that "apt install chromium".
For a few years I had a Netflix subscription. I let it lapse in June
2024, when Netflix dropped their "Basic" no-ads plan and asked me to go
to a more expensive plan. Only Google-Chrome, with its proprietary DRM,
would run Netflix on linux. That's why I got into the mindset of Chrome
being the alternative.
My "daily driver" browser is Pale Moon
https://www.palemoon.org/ I do
a custom build for my machines. That's why I asked about gcc early on.
IANAP (I Am Not A Programmer) but I can follow simple instructions to
"git pull", customize .mozconfig, and do a build.
