AIUI, as long as the architecture hasn't changed, there
isn't much to worry about nowadays, with udev detecting
hardware and generating the appropriate device nodes on
every boot.

Just make sure /etc/fstab is correct. That's the one thing
that has bitten me more than anything else over the years
when migrating.

Of course, it's good to have a supergrub boot disc to make
sure it gets a *chance* to boot. And some utility
distribution on hand as well.

I doubt there will be any problem that these won't handle.
You don't need installer pixie dust if you have an already
running system.
