About Emacs and Ada: a decade ago there was an ada-mode for Emacs
which did perfect syntax highlighting and some basic error showing, and
was just an elisp function. Now ada-mode needs a companion process which
is an application written in Ada, with a few things in C and takes half
an hour to compile on Intel Core i7. I bet it's a kind of IDE built onto
Emacs. I, personnaly, facing such a thing, feel like (I imagine) a wood
louse in front of an ophicleide. By chance syntax highligting works out
of the box. Hoping the rest won't go in my way.
