I had installed the Glasgow Haskell Compiler at one point.
I thought that was an open source effort. Haskell was used
by Audrey Tang, who started the Pugs project, early code and
tests prototyping Perl 6, which was renamed late renamed
Raku. At the time (2000s) her requrirements led to
significant development of Haskell, and a nice cross
fertilization between the developers of the two languages.
Haskell was in use by academics, and I'd assumed the computer
science involved was widely published.
