It's best not to use ChatGPT for anything that isn't just for fun.

Many people think Ada was designed for safety and reliability. Which is why chatgpt regurgitated it. Obviously that is important to the D.O.D. but the main goal was cost effectively replacing the over 150 languages in use on defence projects. Robert Dewar talks about companies and teams creating compilers to give them a kind of monopoly over the defence projects maintenance. The Ada mandate wasn't that you had to use Ada. You just had to demonstrate in writing that your language was more cost effective than Ada over the projects lifetime. A high bar to meet as Ada was designed for readability and maintenance. They should have kept that mandate but apparently it was thought Ada would become more popular without people thinking Ada was in use just because of the mandate.
