Hello, try with:

echo > /etc/X11/default-display-manager

Then, create the file .xinitrc:

exec /path/to/fluxbox

at the next reboot you can login without a graphical display manager.

Use startx to start fluxbox. Please note that might serve to install
xserver-xorg-legacy for launch startx as normal user.

If you don't want use startx you want may try my software 'ax'.
