Set up daedalus-backports and got :

# apt install -t daedalus-backports esptool
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package esptool

(There seems to be more than an occasional 'skip a version' in
the availability of some programs!)
