"Devuan comes only with sysVinit. It provides packages for OpenRC, S6 and
runit. There is no init option in the installer, if the install is from a
.iso file, but I believe the netinstall provides an init choice."

I always saw an option to select the init system, but indeed I used the
netinstall at all times. But anyway the sentence is not quite correct, as
the netinstall is also provided as iso file. Probably it refers to the live
ISO and the live ISO has a different installer (Calamares based)? As I
always used the netinstall I don't know.

Lovely tool! I like that. Would be nice to have it packaged and yes it
would be good packaging it for Debian first. The smaller the diff between
Debian and Devuan the easier the long term maintenance. That would be
exactly what the Debian init diversity mailing list I mentioned here
before is about. I could forward your mail or my reply to your mail there
and put you into CC if you like. Maybe someone would like to pick up
packaging vsv.

I am not sure how easy it would be to switch as I never tried it. But I
think it should be possible. None of the init systems are like Systemd in
Debian which is hard to switch away from as Systemd package refuses to get
uninstalled as long as Systemd is still running.
