You could also place a heat sink on the metal case. I doubt this matters but you could update the firmware with flashrom too.

I just joined so missed the Op but I run OpenBSD as my firewall/routers. Linux wifi support may? be better but it also has had a number of severe netfilter and a terrrible wifi scanning bug.
