Me thinks that we _have_ (quite a few contributions ago) drifted off
topic.

Must confess that my OP with the corresponding quote had, more than
anything else, the intention pointing out what I see* as a severe
contradiction between Unix/Linux philosophy (ie: way of doing things)
and how what the autor of the piece (Liam Proven) describes as the
Wayland protocol can possibly fit into/within its accepted
boundaries.

And how _that_ closely follows the template that eventually resulted
in the acceptance of the systemd abomination within the Linux
ecosystem.

Unfortunately, that has not happened.
