8^D !!!!
Not only *that*.
There's also RFC 1855.
Published in 1995, almost 30 years ago ...(!)

2.1 User Guidelines
2.1.1 For mail: (Pg 3)

- Be brief without being overly terse. When replying to a message,
include enough original material to be understood but no more. It
is extremely bad form to simply reply to a message by including
all the previous message: edit out all the irrelevant material.

DNG is gratiously hosted at lists.dyne.org.
ie: completely free.
It is done with *no* strings attached save the (basic) requirement of
respecting differences in opinion and philosophy, with all that said
behaviour entails.
Now, all *that* costs money but dyne.org still keeps your data
private.
Top posting and excessive/unneeded quoting increases *all*
associated list-maintenance costs.
3.
Last but not least, top posting is a sign of disrespect and
intellectual laziness.
Thank you very much for your intelligent humour/comment.
