You have understood perfectly.

I am sure that most if not all who have read what I have said in many
posts also understood.

I'm not a coder/programmer/maintainer, just a Linux user with many
years' background in MS OSs first and second tier maintenance, an
architect by trade who was forced to learn new tricks when I lost my
job.

Nothing special, just outspoken and opinionated from age six.

As such, I can only 'read the room', speak up and point to what has
been obvious to me for quite a few years.

I cannot by any means imagine that I am the only one, the writing has
been on the wall for many many years.
