Dear Maintainer,
There was already a similar report on Debian's BTS, but this one is different.
Earlier you (Mark) already realized that enabling support
capabilities is the right decision that will have a positive impact on
security. then a problem arose -
Debian should supply a version
start-stop-daemon from dpkg to maintain compatibility.
so, I suggest enabling capabilities support and leaving it only
in supervise-daemon.
this will not affect compatibility in any way, but will allow
improve security and ease of use!
