You have to be clear about what you want to achieve/be able to do/need
to do and how much work you are prepared to do and how much you can
afford (time and $).

Then, it is choosing the best tools.

NO The [Get-Mail] button the just polls every mailbox one after
another in the order that the accounts are listed. Normally it is
over in the blink of your eye. Any delay will mostly likely be DNS or
network related.

BUT There is a side button that allows you select an individual
mailbox to poll.

Q; are you saying you really want individual mail alert
notifications when there is mail in a mailbox?

I'll also point out that Claws-mail will allow you to deposit the
incoming mail from each mail-box into a different user specified
"inbox".

I personally prefer all into one Inbox and them I can
usefilters/processing rules to sort them into relevant folders.

The LHS shows Folder Name, New(Today?), Unread and Total in
folder.

Folders, can have sub-folders, and repeat.... I think I've got up to
seven depths of folders which is good if they are unique as 'locate'
will find them independently of your mailer.

Two points in reply.
1. Honestly, this is a problem that no one has really solved or solved
temporarily in one specific area. It was a point of discussion when I
first went to a LUG in 1993. Perhaps this is best in a different
thread.

2. Specifically,with claws-mail you can manually merge a folder into
your mail tree, open claws, wait for it to index the new folder, then
mass copy contents of end folder(the leafs/messages) in one folder to
another. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know why
it doesn't. Try again tomorrow.

Do you have multiply email boxes hosted by Mr Googly?
How many messages are we talking about?

People have already suggested a number of places where you can have a
no-cost email box.

As I said before.
*Fixed IPv4. ($AUS5/month)
*Own Domain for 20+ years. ($AUS50/2 years)
*External DNS of domain ($AUS50/2 years) Very reliable guy.

*Separate HW for mail server which host sendmail, firewall and
popsrvr. This has always been oldest most ancient PC as load is light.
When bored, might spring for a Raspberry Pi and see if I can make it
run on that to reduce power bill/UPS demand.

* SO runs Sylpheed(let sleeping dogs lie).
* I've run Claws-mail for ages(?).
* Really need to get A->G and find a humungous knowledge indexer that
will suck contents of various mailer over the decades, various
document repositories. etc. I've given up trying to keep a coherent
digital repository. I just want to know where to find it.
