Just as I was thinking of giving it a try again, after like a decade or
so ;-)
I had a peek at the tracker as to why it would be removed. Apparently,
it is caused by a bug filed against elinks, which is, again apparently,
a transitive dependency for aptitude.
I haven't been able to confirm that dependency (on amd64). Moreover, a
NMU for that elinks bug has been uploaded to the DELAYED/5 queue on
2023-11-17 and was accepted into unstable on 2023-11-22. Barring any
showstoppers, it should migrate to testing before the end of the month.
That would remove the issue for aptitude and get rid of the autoremoval,
I think.
