Hi,
..a wee heads-up from today's run of how-can-i-help:
"== How can you help? (doc:
https://wiki.debian.org/how-can-i-help) ==
New packages going to be removed from Debian 'testing' (the maintainer
might need help):
- aptitude -
https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/aptitude - removal on
2023-12-18
-- Show old opportunities as well as new ones: how-can-i-help --old --"
..list is much longer, but this is the first time I've seen such a
Debian-centric core distro utility make it to a clean auto-removal
date with no own critical bug. Could be a policy issue, there's a
wishlist bug pointing to the last version of Debian Policy Standards
Version 4.6.2, which might conflict with Devuan policy.
..either way, "the maintainer might need help" and I'd like
to see it done under Devuan policy and kept init-agnostic.
