I beg to differ.

That was/is the *apparent* point of Ian Jackson's post.
ie: to show that Debian *could* [1] be installed without systemd as
the init.

Something that has not been proved to be feasible.

Keep in sight that Debian devs do not offer support for *any* other
init and have been taking steps [3] to thwart any possibility of
there being one.

So ...

Of course there was.

The *real* point of Ian Jackson's post was to put out there a
question [2] that, at this stage of things, does *not* need asking.

Not to mention other bits like " ... lovely people, but overworked
..." and "... much of that work has been done by Devuan folks but
within Debian." which speak for themselves.

Let us not lose sight of what is going on.
