# Devuan meet 2023-08-03 @20:30 UTC

Present: fsmithred, setto, plasma41, golinux, hendrik, Plentyn
Regrets: adam

## Old Business
### golinux
- Oh boy . . . the toot community webmaster must be color blind. The
subtlety of Devuan colors is swallowed up in blackness and clashing
fugliness. I suggest we keep devuan branding black and white or shades
or gray.
- (fsr) toot?
- (gl) https://toot.community/@devuan

### setto
- No news from Linux O'beardly so let's check in! Setto will reach out
see how SouthEast LinuxFest went.

## Old Actions
### golinux
 - plasma41 . . . did you ever finish the new git icon page?
   - (plasma41) Nearly, WIP is
https://git.devuan.org/plasma41/documentation/src/branch/wip/plasma/art-readme-rewrite/art
     - Great!

## New Business
### golinux
- Did someone register a gravatar? Confirmation email at the
freedom@??? email today. Or is it just yet more spam . . .
(bb|hcb) me and jaromil; that is for the docker images
     - (gl) Thanks for confirming

### bb|hcb
- Debian made `riscv64` official and most probably we will follow -
please share your opinions. I have started building Devuan's packages
for `riscv64` under an emulated chroot with Debian inside. Some have
problems building in the emulated chroot and disabling tests helps
(`export DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck`), others are still missing deps
(that are not yet built in Debian). After that is done, my plan is to
convert the chroot to Devuan and move it to a fully emulated qemu.
Then we can use it as a builder to properly bootstrap `riscv64`.

Getting a proper HW would be best, but for now none seems available.

-- (dimitsos) Here's your proper hardware:
https://www.crowdsupply.com/milkv/milk-v-pioneer
       also: https://milkv.io/pioneer
(hint: they could donate a machine, you can always ask 'em)

- There is a disk slowness problem with one of the new hosts - we can
try to identify the problematic disk and get it replaced, or even
replace the whole host in case the former does not work. I'd prefer to
postpone that activity after the `daedalus` release is announced
officially.

- Upgraded `ns1`, `ns2`, `ns4`, `ns5`, `ns6`, `bu.bg` and `bu.in` to
`daedalus`, no problems so far.

- Set `GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=true` on all physical hosts to avoid
finding stuff from inside the VMs.

### Xenguy

[Live Install Guide](https://beta.devuan.org/os/documentation/install-guides/daedalus/live-gui)
page is now complete, including fresh screenshots (thanks
brocashelm!). Just one page to go now: [Devuan Daedalus Install
Guide](https://beta.devuan.org/os/documentation/install-guides/daedalus/install-devuan).
- Xenguy to crosscheck Daedalus `netinstall.iso` installation images
with current page images, to determine if page updates are needed.
- Once this final page is completed, we should be 'web ready' for
Daedalus release.

### Plentyn
- Will be going to CCCamp, who else is going? (setto) Adam Burns is
going. Setto will link Plentyn and Adam.
- Will also go to Linux day in austria (linuxday.at)

## New Actions
