Before we go ahead with documenting it, can we please have a justification for
why this change is needed?

I think, especially in the case of anything to do with accessibility, there is
a strong case for keeping things the way they used to be, so that someone who
has installed De{bi,vu}an before can still do so again using what they have
learned is needed.

I don't think expecting a blind person to read a README file distributed with
the installer is a good compromise compared to keeping the installer working
the way they are used to, unless there is some good reason for changing the
installer like this (which there might be, but I haven't heard what it is).
