# Devuan meet 2023-03-30 @20:30 UTC

Present: altoid, fsmithred, hendrik, golinux

## Old Business wicd: Hendrik has taken up contact with Andreas Messer,
the developer who has most recently worked on wicd but no longer has
time to work on the project.

## Old Actions

## New Business

### Altoid - A thread at
  https://github.com/teejee2008/timeshift/issues/862 would indicate that
timeshift needs systemd to properly recognize/process a btrfs volume
in a LUKS partition. At Dev1, member Tom reported the same thing, both
with Ceres and Chimaera using timeshift v20.11.1 - I recommended a bug
report be filed against timeshift at Devuan. Seeing that timeshift is
apparently not detecting the btrfs / LUKS partition, it *could* be
that it is a problem related to how btrfs / LUKS behaves when
installed in a systemd environment vis-a-vis a non-systemd one. If so,
that would that also warrant a bug report against btrfs and or LUKS?
timeshift works without issues (that I am aware of) in my Devuan
Beowulf box (backported kernel) without btrfs / LUKS.
  * (fsmithred) This should be tested in debian with sysvinit vs.
systemd. If the problem is present it should be reported in debian.

### LeePen

#### DAK

Created empty suite excalibur (6.0).

#### archive.d.o

Added ascii, ascii-security and ascii-proposed-updates
to [archive.devuan.org](http://archive.devuan.org/merged/dists). All
ascii suites will be removed from pkgmaster.devuan.org and the mirrors
in about a month. Email sent to devuan-announce, devuan-dev and dng.
Addition of Debian jessie-security to
[archive.debian.org](http://archive.debian.org/debian-security) has
made it possible also to add jessie-security as well. Added
[README.archived](http://pkgmaster.devuan.org/merged/dists/README.archived)
to pkgmaster. Updated http://beta.devuan.org

#### Packaging

Debian has pencilled in the release of bookworm in May.
Does anybody want the colours in rootskel-gtk changing?

##### Other updates
* ceres: debootstrap, dnscrypt-proxy, openvpn, reportbug (Closes:
[#754](https://bugs.devuan.org/754)), choose-mirror, xorg-server,
distro-info-data, sysvinit (Closes:
[#1033311](https://bugs.debian.org/1033311))
* chimaera-backports: rsyslog (nocheck, Closes:
[#755](https://bugs.devuan.org/755))

## New Actions

(gl) We need less flapping gums and more hands on-deck
contributing to Devuan. If anyone has ideas of how to make that
happen, please do share.

As to my participation and the desktop
theming . . . the daedalus themeing is completed and in our git
Documentation. It looks great in chimaera but I have no idea what it
looks like on daedalus because . . . I am old, completely burned out
and weary of behaving for the machine. The wallpaper for excalibur is
pretty much settled but I won't be developing the look-and-feel of the
desktop further. Who knows if the current theming will even be a
viable option with the arrival of GTK4 etc. I surrender to the
insanity of chasing a moving goal-post. If anybody wants to take on
the task, ping me.
