For what regards speed: on my laptop and my desktop, using
traditional sysv-RC scripts (Devuan's default), booting takes 20s,
including Grub. This is mostly due to the use of an ssd as disk. This is
up to the point that I never use any suspend mode. My experience with
servers, several years ago is that the BIOS takes several minutes, and,
therefore, there's no point in saving seconds. Providing solutions to
non-existing problems is in general a symtom of unconfessed intentions.
