Finally achieved a working system!!!!
Needed to download a new iso installer disc but I have a working
system.
One small anomaly.
Going through the steps with the installer - - - - get to where it "checks
for disks" (meaning your hdds and sdds (in whatever shape or form - - -
(not) grin!) then it wants me to configure the disk(s) and all that is
showing is the usb stick. Go back to the choose keyboard and re-choose
the American English, the installer pops me back to "configure your
disks" and this time the mmc (and the usb stick) is there.
That was sorta weird but I do have a working installation so its OK
- - - - I guess.
(Mentioning it so that if anyone else is having issues they can try that and
maybe it will also fix their 'issue' .
A large heap of thanks to those that have followed and put up with a
very long, maybe even sorta goofy, install process.
