As far as I can tell, no. I have a ps/2 keyboard here attached through
a USB adapter, and can unplug and plug it back in at will with no problems.

As far as I recall, the issue has to do with hardware, not
software. Supposedly, ps/2 wasn't designed to be plugged and
unplugged. The couple times I yanked a ps/2 cable out of the port, and
risked plugging it back in, I got a squawk from my PC speaker, but
nothing more. Someone once told me he fried the motherboard by
plugging in a ps/2 device while the PC was running. I don't know if
any of this still applies to modern boards with a ps/2 connector.
