Maybe your /etc/ld.so.cache is misconfigured?
Here's a little trick i discovered when I was learning to build initramfs
files:

1. add the new /lib/ directories to /etc/ld.so.conf
2. run ldconfig to rebuild ld.so.cache
3. profit!
