Personally I agree with the latter letter, and feel that the Debian resolution
is an over-reaction, to put it mildly. The Debian project can choose not to
recognise him or his ways of expressing his opinions if they wish, but I agree
that he is still entitled to hold and express those opinions, and each person
or organisation those opinions affect can decide for themselves whether to
agree with him.

I think that's too thoroughly-researched and competently written for the
Debian Project Secretary to give it due consideration :(

They don't want a reasoned debate - they want to tell people what to do.
