Jitsi Project codebases so far:
o Jitsi Desktop aka 'Jitsi' aka 'the SIP Communicator': a VoIP and
instant messaging application. This was the first project, and
is now deemed mature and community-maintained.
o Jitsi Meet: videoconferencing server suite leveraging IETF's
WebRTC protocol suite. Components include:
o Jitsi Videobridge2: media server engine, specifically a
WebRTC-compatible video router or 'SFU' (Selective Forwarding Unit).
Jitsi Meet always includes at least one of these.
o jicofo (JItsi COnference FOcus): "focus" component required to run
Jitsi Meet conferences.
o Jigasi: Optional SIP telephony gateway for Jitsi Videobridge2.
o Jibri: broadcaster and recorder used for saving video call
recordings and streaming to YouTube Live
o Jidesha: Chrome/Chomium and Firefox extension for calendar
integration (formerly also did screensharing).
o jitsi-meet-electron: Bespoke desktop client for Jitsi Meet, built
atop the Electron engine.
o jitsi-meet-electron-utils: what it says on the tin
o lib-jitsi-meet: Low-level JavaScript API for providing a customized
UI for Jitsi Meet.
o docker-jitsi-meet: necessary tools to run a Jitsi Meet stack on
Docker using Docker Compose.
o jitsi-slack: Slack chat/direct messaging integration to enable
starting video conferences from Slack and easily inviting Slack
members to conferences.
There are _lots more_, but those are the major ones.
Point is, the term "Jitsi" is ambiguous, and is not the correct name for
Jitsi Meet, at all.
