Yes, I can see that from dmesg.

Makes no difference.

Those are not the names I get.
It doesn't matter whether I have:
net.ifnames=0
net.ifnames=1
no mention of net.ifnames at all
In every case I get eth0, eth1 (PCI card) and eth2 (motherboard).
