Gregory . . . the detailed instructions in this and your previous email
are very helpful. Thanks for catching the error. If needed, I will use
this command as you suggested:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdx

I think this can be marked as "solved" for now. Will post an update in
a week or so.
