If you feel suited there's a lot of work you could help me in
1) Helping in merging all fixes into a working template
2) * Helping in adding support to debian unprivileged containment:
Figuring out why systemd crashes with "Failed to create /init.scope control group: Permission denied"
Sounds similar to the case reported in
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/9563 but none of the workarounds specified here worked, including cgroup/systemd/user.slice and cgroup/unified
I know, it sucks, in theory we shouldn't bother with this at all
3) * Helping in adding support to devuan unprivileged containment:
Here the situation is a bit better, sysvinit survives a lot of errors but gets stuck on runlevel 2
* prerequisite: following the setup into
https://wiki.debian.org/LXC#Unprivileged_container, specifically, after following prerequisites for unprivileged containers (the part "Unprivileged Debian container by mmdebstrap --mode=unshare")
The main idea is having lxc templates that work in both privileged and unprivileged mode
