I thought this was settled law. Debian has sysvinit scripts, dropped
ones can be gotten from Wheezy, and in other cases there exists a
conversion script that seems mighty thorough. I thought therefore that
nobody in Devuan would need to create sysvinit scripts.

Now if you're talking about s6, runit, Epoch and OpenRC, yes, script
maintainers should be given knowledge of Unit Files.
