Hello,
I have been looking at the packages of slim in ceres and beowulf. There are a
number of issues and inconsistencies that need addressing.
Ceres has version 1.3.6-5+devuan4. There are 2 issues with it. Currently it
isn't installable on a pure ceres system as it depends on libpng12-0 which isn't
present in ceres. It does recompile against the version of libpng which is
present (libpng16-16), so that is an easy fix. However, it is also built against
consolekit and so the packages can't be installed on elogind systems.
Beowulf has version slim-1.3.6-5.1 merged from Debian. It works with elogind
systems (via pam) but not with consolekit. Also when upgrading ascii->beowulf it
will not upgrade as the ascii version number is higher (slim-1.3.6-5.1+devuan2).
How do we want to resolve this? With my elogind hat on, I would like to see slim
work with it. It isn't immediately clear to me that slim can be made to support
both elogind and consolekit in a single binary.
