This is slightly unrelated, but can anyone recommend a libvte-free terminal emulator that is similar to xfce4-terminal and can handle ligatures? I want to use Fira Code on my terminal; however all libvte-using terminals are affected by a (rather appalling) bug <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=584160> which has been open for quite some time, where the text gets mangled and characters go missing with the Fira Code font.

ps: I really enjoy the dismissive attitude of the gnome devs on that bugzilla.
