I was actually claiming the first package you linked to wasn't needed
and also that debian really really should have added that free package
you linked like maybe 2 years ago? thinkpenguin started selling the free
version with the free firmware, in 2013!
it is "very strange" and also "really stupid" that they waited this long...
and even now, they still don't have it included in stretch... its really
infuriating... but yeah... initially I didn't make my self clear...

was not directed towards you whatsoever...
those people who said that the atheros firmware needed was non-free...
and that it was a waste of time for that reason... pure complete
ignorance and yes facepalm.
