I have checked the original sha sums of
our jessie releases and they all match

speaking of which, a script to run a re-check
of all packages against backupped versions
of their sha sums stored elsewhere
would be very handy in such situations...
its definitely a lot of work, but to be run
in situations where integrity doubts may
be raised like this one....
