I'm not so sure about that. The manifesto starts out by telling how
systemd limits our freedom to do what we want with our computers, and
describing that as a cause. Later it also names Debian
ridiculogovernance as a cause, but I don't remember it prioritizing
either over the other.

Speaking just for myself, I prioritize the monolithically entanged
architecture of systemd over all else in my OS choices for the last two
years. If the Debian dev leadership had foist runit on the community in
exactly the same way as they did systemd, heaven help me, I would have
been a runit defender, and would have stayed with Debian. I wouldn't
have been pleased at Debian treating its community that way, but I
would have acquiesced. You'd better believe I'd have also written The
Debian Experiments instead of The Manjaro Experiments, and would have
shown just how great, cool and easy runit is.

I'll never use Debian again because I don't trust them to respect their
users. But, I'll also not use systemd, because I don't want that level
of monolithic entanglement on my computer.
