Posting this irc discussion at Jaromil's request. Hopefully some
progress was made on integrating graphics into desktop-base by the time
we finished. Please report if it's now a seamless purpy landscape from
grub to Desktop. As to plymouth . . . I have never used it because I
like to see the terminal output scroll by - it only takes a few seconds
here. If you think it's really necessary, I could probably figure out
how to make the current one purpy (but someone else would have to get it
into git). Current list of desktop-base issues is here:
