It's not my plugin - I believe the author should select a suitable default.
I would suggest 0.5, although the author may prefer 0. or 1. or some other
intermediate value.

The patch is trivial, just add a line like:
blend_amount = 0.5;

before the line:
register_param(blend_amount,...);
